Uwharrie Point is a gated residential community on a 950 acre peninsula that extends from north to south for about 3 miles into the heart of 5300 acre Badin Lake. Twenty distinct neighborhoods provide for a wide diversity of homes and homesites based on size, style, and/or orientation and all are accessed by way of the Uwharrie Point Parkway as it winds down the center of the peninsula from the entry gate to the southern tip of the property. With a plan for 630 carefully situated homesites, the overall density makes Uwharrie Point one of the least dense lake and golf communities anywhere.

In addition to all club and open space facilities, included in the Community are lake front home sites that are pre-approved for private piers, lake front home sites that have views and access to the lake but are not approved for piers, golf home sites along most of the fairways and greens, and wooded home sites in various locations. Most home sites range in size from one third acre to one acre, and in the Southpoint area there are a number of estate properties that fall in the three to five acre range.
