At the center of the community is a superb Tom Fazio golf course - one of his best. Golf Digest and Golfweek both rate it among the top Private Courses in America. And for the past six years, North Carolina Magazine's survey of golf professionals and golf writers ranked it the number two course in all of North Carolina. The Old North State Club ranked as the number one private course in the state. In addition, finishing holes #17 and #18 were voted best Par 3 and Par 5 in North Carolina!

It's an eminently fair course to play. One that can challenge the scratch player without punishing the high handicapper.

In designing the course, Fazio was given free reign to locate fairways without regard to future homesites. The prime considerations were the environment, the lake views and the natural vegetation of the peninsula.

Upon completion, the course snaked up and down the rolling terrain, crossed wetlands or water, ten times and captured all the beauty, character, variety and challenge essential to making a course truly great. The Old North State Club is a course you'll enjoy playing over and over again.

This 7,102 yard Tom Fazio masterpiece has also been the home to the Atlantic Coast Conference golf championship and the North Carolina Amateur. The Men's ACC returns to The Old North State Club in April 2003.
