
On April 23-25 of 2010, the Men's ACC golf Championship was held at the Old North State Club for the fourteenth time since 1995.
Since 1995, the ACC men's Golf Tournament has signaled the
arrival of spring at the Old State Club at Uwharrie Point.
Club members, many of whom volunteer to assist in the operation
of the tournament, get to know these collegiate players and then
enjoy following the careers of those who move on to professional Golf.
Twenty one former ACC players who competed here in the
ACC tournament now qualify to play on the PGA tour. They are:
Jonathan Byrd, Stewart Cink, Tim Clark, James Driscoll, Lucas Glover,
Bill Haas, Matt Kuchar, Steve Marino, Troy Matteson, George McNeill,
Bryce Molder, Joe Ogilvie, Carl Pettersson, Webb Simpson,
Nicholas Thompson, DJ Trahan, Cameron Tringdale, Marc Turnesa,
Charles Warren, Matt Weibring, and Mark Wilson
These players now have a combined total of 53 professional victories---
27 on the PGA tour, 20 on the Nationwide Tour, and 6 in International
tournament events. Included are 2009 major victories in the
US Open for Lucas Glover and in the British Open for Stewart Cink.
